Ana Novac

Ana Novac was a Romanian writer, born in 1929 in Dej, a city located in northern Transylvania. Her birth name was Zimra Harsányi, and she spent her formative years in Oradea, also known as Nagyvárad. This region's complex cultural landscape would later influence her perspective on identity and nationality.

As a writer, Ana Novac's experiences were shaped by the shifting national affiliations of her family, which changed four times over three generations.
