Audrey Azoulay

Audrey Azoulay is a French civil servant and politician born in 1972. Her career in public service has been marked by notable appointments, including her tenure as France's Minister of Culture from 2016 to 2017, during which she worked under the leadership of Prime Ministers Manuel Valls and Bernard Cazeneuve.
Azoulay's most prominent role to date has been as the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), a position she held from 2017 to 2025. As the 10th Director-General of UNESCO, she became the second female leader in the organization's history. In recognition of her achievements, Azoulay was honored as the Paris Dauphine University Alumna of the Year in 2024, a testament to her distinguished career in politics and public service.
