Eric Guggenheim
American screenwriter (born 1973)
Eric Guggenheim is a screenwriter born in 1973 in the United States. He pursued his education in the arts, graduating from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 1995. This marked the beginning of his career in the film industry, which took off when he sold his script, Trim, to Fox 2000 at the age of 23. Guggenheim's early success led to opportunities to write for major studios and networks, including Warner Bros. and USA Network.
Guggenheim's notable works include the 2004 feature film Miracle. He has also had a significant presence in television, serving as a writer on the NBC series Parenthood for four seasons. Currently, he is involved with the CBS series Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum P.I., holding the positions of writer, executive producer, and co-showrunner. Following the departure of Peter Lenkov, Guggenheim took on the role of sole showrunner for Magnum P.I. He comes from a family of screenwriters, including his brothers Marc and David Guggenheim, and his family has a Jewish background.
