Har Hamor

Religious Zionist yeshiva in Jerusalem

Har Hamor is a Religious Zionist yeshiva situated in the Har Homa neighborhood of Jerusalem. Established in 1997, it originated as an offshoot of the esteemed Yeshivat Mercaz HaRav. The institution is led by President Rabbi Zvi Thau and Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Amiel Sternberg, who oversee the academic and spiritual development of its students. With a sizable student body of approximately 850, Har Hamor distinguishes itself from other Religious Zionist yeshivas due to its unique demographic composition.

Notably, a significant proportion of Har Hamor's students are married, referred to as "avrechim," which contributes to a higher average age among the student population compared to other similar institutions. This characteristic sets Har Hamor apart, suggesting a distinct approach to religious education and activism. As a prominent center of Religious Zionist learning and activism, Har Hamor plays a significant role in shaping the intellectual and spiritual landscape of its community, with its leaders and students actively engaging in various aspects of Jewish life and scholarship.
