Marek Edelman was a prominent Polish socio-political activist and cardiologist, born between 1919 and 1922. His life's work spanned multiple fields, including medicine and politics, with a strong focus on social activism. As a cardiologist, Edelman dedicated himself to the medical field, while also being deeply involved in political and social causes.

Edelman is perhaps best known for his role as the last surviving leader of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, a significant event in Polish history. Despite facing harassment from the authorities of the Polish United Workers' Party, Edelman chose to remain in the Polish People's Republic. He continued to be an active voice in politics and social issues until his death in 2009, leaving behind a legacy as a dedicated activist and medical professional.
