Margit Feldman
Hungarian-American public speaker (1929–2020)
Margit Feldman was a Hungarian-American public speaker and activist who dedicated her life to sharing her experiences as a Holocaust survivor. Born in 1929, Feldman's life took a dramatic turn in 1944 when she and her family were sent to a concentration camp, where her parents were tragically killed upon arrival. At just 15 years old, Feldman managed to survive by misrepresenting her age, which led to her being sent to a work camp instead of facing immediate harm.
Following her liberation from Bergen-Belsen concentration camp on April 15, 1945, Feldman eventually moved to the United States, where she built a new life and started a family. As an educator and public speaker, she spent years sharing her story with students, using her experiences to raise awareness and promote activism. Through her work, Feldman aimed to educate and inspire future generations, leaving a lasting legacy that continued until her passing in 2020.
