Melissa Lantsman is a Canadian politician born in 1984. She has been serving as the member of Parliament for Thornhill since 2021, representing the Conservative Party. Prior to her political career, Lantsman worked as a public relations executive. Her election marked a significant milestone, as she became the first openly lesbian and the first Jewish woman to be elected as a Conservative MP.
In her role as a Conservative MP, Lantsman holds key leadership positions. She serves as the party's co-deputy leader, alongside Tim Uppal, and also as the co-deputy leader of the Official Opposition. Her appointment to these positions was made by Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, following his election as party leader.
