Moshe Tavor

Moshe Tavor was a member of the Jewish Brigade, a unit within the British Army that played a significant role in the fight against German forces in Italy during 1944-45. Following the atrocities committed by the German army, Tavor and his comrades sought to exact justice on their own terms. They utilized available information to track down individuals believed to have participated in the killing of Jews, taking it upon themselves to mete out punishment.

Tavor's actions during this period were marked by a sense of unyielding resolve, as he and his fellow unit members would often disguise themselves as British Military Police to capture and execute their targets in isolated areas. In later years, Tavor reflected on his actions, stating that he did not express regret for the murders committed without trial, but rather for not having done more to their captives. This stance underscores the complexities and strong emotions that defined Tavor's experiences and actions during this tumultuous period.
