Saleh and Daoud Al-Kuwaity were musical artists of Babylonian and Persian Jewish ancestry, born in Kuwait in the early 20th century. Saleh was born in 1908, while Daoud was born in 1910. The brothers gained recognition in the Arab world for their contributions to music, particularly in the genres of Iraqi maqam and Kuwaiti sawt. Their work played a pivotal role in shaping the modern classical music landscape of Iraq and Kuwait.
The Al-Kuwaity brothers' career spanned several decades, during which they established themselves as prominent figures in the musical scene. In 1951, they made the significant decision to immigrate from Iraq to Israel, marking a new chapter in their lives. Saleh passed away in 1986, while Daoud preceded him in death, passing away in 1976.
