Toronto Jewish Folk Choir

The Toronto Jewish Folk Choir holds the distinction of being Canada's oldest Jewish choral group, comprising a diverse ensemble of approximately 30 singers. Under the direction of conductor Alexander Veprinsky, the choir has developed a rich and varied repertoire that showcases secular Jewish music, classical compositions inspired by Jewish themes, and an array of international songs. Characterized by their harmonious four-part arrangements, the choir's performances reflect a deep appreciation for the cultural heritage of Jewish music.

With a specialization in Yiddish folk songs and working-class themed songs, the Toronto Jewish Folk Choir offers a unique perspective on the Jewish musical tradition. Based at the Winchevsky Centre in Toronto, the choir is also affiliated with the United Jewish Peoples' Order, further solidifying its connection to the local Jewish community. Through their performances, the Toronto Jewish Folk Choir continues to celebrate and share the beauty of Jewish music with audiences, fostering a sense of cultural awareness and appreciation for the genre's diverse and storied history.
