Moshe Shmuel Glasner

Moshe Shmuel Glasner was a prominent Hungarian Talmudic scholar and communal leader, born in 1856. He held the position of chief rabbi of Klausenburg from 1877 to 1923, demonstrating his significant influence and leadership within the Jewish community. During his tenure, Glasner established himself as a respected figure in Jewish scholarship and communal affairs.

Glasner's literary contributions include the esteemed commentary Dor Revi'i, which focuses on the tractate Hullin. His work showcases his expertise in Talmudic studies and has become a classic in the field. Additionally, Glasner was a supporter of Zionism and played a key role in the founding of Mizrachi, highlighting his commitment to the movement. In 1923, he relocated to Jerusalem, where he spent the final year of his life until his passing in 1924.
