Arthur Liebert

German philosopher (1878–1946)

Arthur Liebert was a German philosopher born in 1878, whose academic foundation was laid at the University of Berlin. During his time at the university, he had the opportunity to study under some of the most influential minds of his era, including Wilhelm Dilthey, Friedrich Paulsen, Alois Riehl, Georg Simmel, and Carl Stumpf. This diverse range of intellectual influences would later shape his philosophical outlook and contributions to the field.

Liebert's philosophical journey began with an affinity for Neo-Kantianism, characterized by anti-naturalist and critical idealist perspectives. However, his thoughts and ideas underwent a significant evolution over time, as he transitioned towards dialectical idealism and eventually embraced universal humanism. Through his work as a philosopher, editor, and organizer of philosophical scholarship, Liebert made notable contributions to the field of philosophy, leaving a lasting legacy until his passing in 1946.
