Clara Immerwahr

Clara Immerwahr was a pioneering German chemist, born in 1870. She made history by becoming the first German woman to earn a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Breslau, marking a significant milestone in her career. Her work and achievements not only contributed to the field of chemistry but also paved the way for future generations of women in science.
In addition to her scientific pursuits, Immerwahr was a strong advocate for women's rights and a passionate pacifist. Her personal life was marked by her marriage to Fritz Haber, a renowned chemist who would later win the Nobel Prize. The couple was married from 1901 until Immerwahr's tragic death by suicide in 1915. Throughout her life, Immerwahr remained committed to her values and left a lasting legacy as a heroine of the women's rights movement.
