Fiamma Nirenstein
Italian-Israeli journalist and political figure
Fiamma Nirenstein is a prominent Italian-Israeli figure, active in the fields of journalism and politics. Her career in politics began when she was elected to the Italian Parliament in 2008, representing The People of Freedom party, led by Silvio Berlusconi. During her tenure, which lasted until March 2013, she held the position of Vice President of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies. This role allowed her to contribute to the country's foreign policy decisions and engage with international affairs.
After making Aliyah to Israel in May 2013, Nirenstein continued to be involved in politics and journalism. She was nominated by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a potential ambassador to Italy in 2015, although she later withdrew from consideration due to personal reasons. Nirenstein is currently a Senior Fellow at the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs and writes for various publications, including the Italian daily Il Giornale and the Jewish News Syndicate. She is also a member of the Israeli Council on Foreign Relations of the World Jewish Congress, and resides in Jerusalem, where she remains active in her work and contributions to the field of foreign affairs.
