Franziska Schlopsnies, born Spangenthal, was a prominent German designer who made significant contributions to the fields of fashion, poster, and graphic design. Born on 1 December 1884 in Frankfurt am Main, she went on to develop a distinctive style that would gain recognition in the art world. Her work was characterized by its association with the Art Deco movement, which was popular during the 1920s.

Schlopsnies' illustrations and covers were featured in several notable weeklies of her time, including Jugend, Simplicissimus, Meggendorfer-Blätter, and Berliner Illustrirte Zeitung. Her career was marked by a unique blend of creativity and technical skill, which enabled her to excel in multiple areas of design. Tragically, her life was cut short when she died on 30 December 1944 in the Auschwitz concentration camp. Despite the circumstances of her death, Schlopsnies' legacy as a talented and innovative designer continues to be acknowledged and appreciated.
