Hamakor (band)

Israeli Jewish rock band

Hamakor was a prominent Israeli Jewish rock band that emerged from Mevo Modi'im. The band's formation in 2006 was spearheaded by lead singer Nachman Solomon, who played a pivotal role in shaping the group's sound and direction. Over the course of its active years, Hamakor underwent several lineup changes, with a rotating cast of talented musicians contributing to the band's unique blend of rock and Jewish music.

The band released two full-length albums: The Source in 2007 and World On Its Side in 2010. These albums showcased Hamakor's ability to craft meaningful and energetic music that resonated with listeners. After the band's dissolution, its members went on to pursue other musical endeavors, with some joining notable groups such as G-Nome Project, Shlomit & RebbeSoul, and Zusha. Musicians like Bruce Burger, Chemy Soibelman, and Mendy Portnoy were among those who passed through Hamakor's ranks, bringing their individual talents to the table and helping to leave a lasting legacy in the Israeli Jewish rock scene.
