Hank & Cupcakes is an indie rock–pop duo based in Atlanta, formed in 2008 in Tel Aviv, Israel. The duo consists of Ariel "Hank" Scherbacovsky and Sagit "Cupcakes" Shir, a husband-and-wife team. Their moniker is a nod to literary figures, drawing inspiration from Hank Chinaski, the alter ego of American writer Charles Bukowski, and Pamela "Cupcakes" Wood, one of his real-life lovers.
The duo has released several albums, starting with their full-length debut Naked on July 2, 2013. Prior to this, they released the Ain't No Love EP on October 22, 2012, with the single "Sweet Potion" premiering on MTV Hive on October 9, 2012. Subsequent albums include Cash 4 Gold in 2014 and Cheap Thrill on July 1, 2016. Through their music, Hank & Cupcakes has established themselves as a notable indie rock–pop act, with a unique sound and style that has garnered attention from fans and critics alike.
