Louis Slotin

Louis Slotin was a Canadian physicist and chemist who made significant contributions to his field. Born in 1910, he spent his formative years in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he developed an interest in science. He pursued higher education at the University of Manitoba, earning both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree. Slotin then furthered his academic pursuits at King's College London, where he was awarded a doctorate in physical chemistry in 1936.

Slotin's professional career was marked by his involvement in the Manhattan Project, a notable endeavor in the field of physics. Prior to his participation in the project, he worked as a research associate at the University of Chicago, where he was involved in the design of a cyclotron.
