Marc-Alain Ouaknin

Marc-Alain Ouaknin is a French rabbi and philosopher, born in 1957. As the son of Grand Rabbi Jacques Ouaknin and Eliane Erlich Ouaknin, he comes from a prominent rabbinical family. His father has held the position of Grand Rabbi in several major French cities, including Reims, Lille, Metz, and Marseille.

Ouaknin has established himself as a notable figure in the field of philosophy, drawing on his rabbinical background to inform his work. One of his most renowned writings is "The Burnt Book", a testament to the significant influence of his father on his intellectual and spiritual development. Dedicated to his father, the book reflects the strong bond between Ouaknin and his paternal mentor, Grand Rabbi Jacques Ouaknin.
