Geiringer's life took a tragic turn with the Anschluss, the German invasion of Austria, which led to her forced departure from the Biological Research Institute due to her Jewish heritage. Ultimately, she fell victim to the atrocities of World War II and was executed at the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.
