Moshé Machover

Israeli-British anti-Zionist activist (born 1936)

Moshé Machover is a prominent Israeli-British activist and intellectual, born in 1936 in Tel Aviv, which was then under the British Mandate of Palestine. His family was of Jewish origin, and this background would later influence his critical stance on Zionism. Machover's professional pursuits span multiple fields, including mathematics and philosophy, which have informed his socialist activism.

As a key figure in socialist circles, Machover co-founded the Israeli Socialist Organisation, known as Matzpen, in 1962. This organisation reflected his commitment to socialist ideals and his critique of Zionism. In 1968, Machover relocated to Britain, where he became a naturalised citizen. Through his writings and activism, he has continued to express his anti-Zionist views, establishing himself as a notable voice in debates surrounding Zionism and socialism.
