Omer Yankelevich is a multifaceted Israeli professional, with a background in law, education, and social activism, who has also made a mark in the country's political landscape. Her entry into politics was facilitated by her joining the Israel Resilience Party in 2019, which is a component of the Blue and White alliance. This move led to her being placed on the party's list for the Knesset elections, ultimately resulting in her becoming a Member of the Knesset.

Yankelevich's political career gained significant momentum as she was re-elected to the Knesset in subsequent elections. Her most notable appointment came when she was named Minister of Diaspora Affairs in the national unity government, a position that made her the first Haredi woman to serve in a cabinet minister role. Beyond her political endeavors, Yankelevich is also recognized for her social initiatives, notably as a co-founder of the "Just Begun Foundation", which focuses on integrating marginalized populations in Israel, with a particular emphasis on the Haredi sector.
