Rachel Dratch

Rachel Dratch is an American actress, comedian, and writer born in 1966. She pursued higher education at Dartmouth College, later relocating to Chicago to hone her craft in improvisational theatre. Her training took place at esteemed institutions, including The Second City and ImprovOlympic, which laid the groundwork for her future career in comedy.

Dratch's most notable role to date has been as a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live, a position she held from 1999 to 2006. During her tenure, she showcased her versatility by portraying a wide range of characters, including the iconic Debbie Downer. Even after her initial departure from the show, Dratch has made intermittent returns to SNL, notably to portray Senator Amy Klobuchar, demonstrating her enduring connection to the program and her ability to embody diverse roles.
