Shimon Gershon Rosenberg

Shimon Gershon Rosenberg, widely recognized as HaRav Shagar, was a prominent Israeli rabbi and educator who made significant contributions to the field of philosophy. His scholarly work was distinguished by its integration of Neo-Hasidism and postmodern thought, reflecting a unique approach to Torah scholarship. As a religious postmodern thinker, HaRav Shagar's ideas had a profound impact on contemporary Jewish philosophy.

HaRav Shagar's educational endeavors included the establishment of Yeshivat Siach Yitzchak in Jerusalem in 1996, a project he undertook in collaboration with Rabbi Yair Dreifuss. The yeshiva later relocated to Givat HaDagan in Efrat, with HaRav Shagar serving as its head until his passing.
