Vlady (painter)

Vlady was a Russian-Mexican painter born in 1920. His early life took a significant turn when he relocated to Mexico as a refugee from Russia, accompanied by his father, the notable writer Victor Serge. This move had a profound impact on his artistic trajectory, as he had already been exposed to the world of painting during his time in Europe.

Upon settling in Mexico, Vlady swiftly integrated into the country's vibrant artistic and intellectual circles. His talent and dedication to his craft were evident in his rapid rise to prominence, marked by his first solo exhibition in 1945, just two years after his arrival in Mexico.
