Jacques Heim

French fashion designer (1899–1967)

Jacques Heim was a renowned French fashion designer, born in 1899, who made significant contributions to the world of art and fashion. His expertise spanned multiple fields, including costume design for theater and film, as well as manufacturing women's furs. Heim's creative vision and entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his eponymous fashion house, which he successfully ran from 1930 until his passing in 1967.

Heim's influence extended beyond his own fashion house, as he played a key role in shaping the French fashion industry. Notably, he served as president of the Paris Chambre Syndicale de la haute couture from 1958 to 1962, a pivotal period marked by the transition from traditional haute couture to ready-to-wear clothing. Although his fashion house closed in 1969, two years after his death, Jacques Heim's legacy as a pioneering fashion designer and industry leader continues to be recognized.
