Sonia Rykiel

Sonia Rykiel was a renowned French fashion designer and writer, born in 1930. Her contributions to the fashion world were significant, particularly in the realm of knitwear design. Rykiel's innovative techniques and creations, such as the iconic Poor Boy Sweater, earned her the nickname "Queen of Knits". This design was notably featured on the cover of French Elle magazine, showcasing her talent and style. Her work in fashion led to the establishment of the Sonia Rykiel label in 1968, with the opening of her first store, which offered a range of clothing, accessories, and fragrances.
